Some of the Course
There are two types of golf courses in Ireland, inland or parkland and seaside or links. Parkland courses are most like the States courses with trees and bushes, most often found in Ireland's old country estates. Link courses are built along the seacoast, or into the sea. They are built on wind-hardened sand, with hardy coastal grasses which produce monstrous difficulties in the rough. Or, they are constructed high atop coastal cliffs where the ocean breeze or gale force winds are a factor.
